Just a couple of items in the links which are interesting. I knew Legos were fun. But this tops everything I've seen thus far!

OK, that was supposed to read "more to come" but a Freudian slip printed out instead.....oops. Anyway, what exactly does the term "sacred blues" mean? To tell you the truth, I don't know. It sounded cool. I am trying to build my faith, and I enjoy blues music. Now, not the rinky tink stuff that some rock bands sometimes. I mean BLUES, like Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Albert King, Leadbelly, Buddy Guy, Big Bill Broonzy, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Blind Willie Johnson, the kind that makes your heart ache just mentioning the names. Course, I can't forget my favourite bluesman, Stevie Ray Vaughan. Not just the music, but his life. He is an inspiration not only in my own musical quest of the blues, but in my road of recovery from addiction.

Now, the realm of Christian music seems to be getting a little stagnant, due to the "need" to attract to a larger, younger audience. What seems to be cropping up are simply cleaner, sanitized versions of some of the mainstream pop acts. Also, one can find a parallel genre between secular and Christian music. Metal, industrial, rock, ska, goth, rap, even soul (Glen Kaiser.....what a concert that was!) But my beloved blues has no spokesperson. (Not a huge PC buff, but hey....there may be a female out there with as much a passion for the blues as I. Hope she's single...) SUre, there's gospel, but nothing that has the raw power and angst of the artists listed above. Maybe this little void is where I can fit in; combining the Message and the power of the blues into a music for the people. I'm standing at the crossroads, and praying I'll be moving upward.
(sorry, Robert, I had to paraphrase.)
